Children Ministries
Welcome to Grand Central Station!
Grand Central Station is the name of the children’s department at Grandview Christian Church. Grand Central Station serves children from birth through 6th grade.

Safety
- Grand Central Station staff has been interviewed, references have been checked and background checks completed on new staff.
- We have a 2 adult rule. No matter how small the class at least 2 adults are on duty in each classroom. If you arrive early and only 1 teacher is present, please wait until the 2nd teacher arrives.
- To ensure the kids' safety, we require parents to present their pick up ticket when they return to their child's classroom.
- Please make sure we know about your child's allergies. If your child is allergic to something they should have a red dot on their nametag. The allergens should be listed on the back of the nametag. We rely on you to make sure this information remains through nametag replacements. Thanks!
- A first aid kit is kept at the information Desk. A log book is used to record all first aid that is administered.
- Grand Central Station workers are instructed on how to evacuate the building. The evacuation plan is posted next to the door of each classroom.
Nursery
Grandview provides two nurseries: infant and 1-year old. Please download our nursery brochure for complete details of each room.
Grand Central Station Sunday Morning Schedule
The Grand Central Station staff will be ready to receive children 15 minutes before each worship service begins. Visitors should stop by the information desk at the entrance of Grand Central Station to check in their children before proceeding to their classrooms. - 2 year olds - 4th grade: visit www.heartshaper.com. Click on download scope and sequence to view lesson material.
- 5th & 6th grade (BRATPAC): visit www.mygrapple.com to view their lesson material, events calendar and access class games. Kids must have a signed permission slip to receive their password.
- Kids' Worship is for kindergarten through 4th graders. It's designed to prepare children to participate in congregational worship. Each week includes the Lord's Prayer, Communion, scripture readings, songs and a lesson. Our lesson information is at www.kidsownworship.com. Families are encouraged to worship together as soon as their child is ready.
- We suspend elementary graded Sunday School and Kids' Worship in June and July and replace it with Summer Sunday School. This is VBS Grandview style.
Summer Sunday School
In June and July we suspend Kids’ Worship and elementary graded Sunday School and offer Summer Sunday School in its place. This is a VBS style program that runs from 9:30-12:00 on Sunday mornings. This change of pace is great for kids and workers during summer vacations.
Since the younger kids thrive on consistency, the nursery and preschool Sunday programming is unchanged during the summer.
BRATPAC (5th & 6th grade)

5th & 6th grade is a time of transition from the children’s program to the youth group. We’ve named this group the BRATPAC. It’s an acronym for building relationships and telling people about Christ. The BRATPAC are given increased opportunities to: 1) develop leadership skills, 2) promote service and 3) build relationships with peers.
We use our theme verse to guide our programming: Matthew 28:19-20, Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age. In addition to Sunday School and worship, our schedule includes:
- Monthly service projects
- Sunday night small group meetings
- Monthly fellowship events
Details about our calendar may be viewed on our class webpage at www.mygrapple.com. Complete the BRATPAC consent form and turn it in to the Minister to Children to receive a password.
